Contexte de la formation

In a time where growingly complex topics, in the shape of internationalized and multi-stakeholder oriented legal cases, have become the norm, managing files in the form of a project has become a competitive selling point.

Objectifs

This training will empower participants to carry out as well as manage their own legal projects.

After the course they will be able to:

  • Define the scope of Legal Project Management (LPM)
  • Identify project constraints
  • Be aware of risk management in the framework of legal projects
  • Identify priorities and allocate adequate resources accordingly
  • Split legal projects into tasks
  • Learn how to close projects

The training programme follows the 4 phases principle of LPM:

  1. Phase 1: Initiation
    • Address high-value questions
    • Map stakeholders
    • Learn how to scope down dialogue
    • Understand what a project charter/an engagement letter is
  2. Phase 2: Planning
    • Use the iron triangle
    • Learn how to carry out a work breakdown structure
    • Master time estimations
    • Manage dependencies
    • Carry out a communication plan
  3. Phase 3: Execution
    • Manage risk
    • Use kanban-boards
    • Set up effective project meetings
    • Monitor projects
    • Control costs
    • Implement change management techniques
  4. Phase 4 : Closure
    • Learn what makes a successful delivery
    • Evaluate client satisfaction
    • Dos and don’ts and common pitfalls in legal projects
    • Best-practice behaviors for legal project managers
    • Supporting technology for LPM

Courses will take place on October 3rd and October 4th 2019 from 9 am to 5 pm.
